Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties
The appointed Merchandiser will operate independently within their assigned division, fulfilling the following daily responsibilities:
1. Communication & Sourcing Workflow
- Execute complete merchandising workflows from product development, quotation, and sample approval to final shipment.
- Maintain clear and professional English communication with international Product Managers and European buying teams.
- Lead price negotiations, accurate costing analysis, and day-to-day vendor management.
2. Technical Execution & Quality Standards
- Prepare, update, and interpret buyer Tech Packs to calculate material consumption accurately.
- Collaborate closely with internal Technical Teams to ensure pre-production and production samples meet commercial standards.
- Work alongside the Quality Assurance Team to maintain on-time production schedules and shipment timelines.
3. Software Utilization & Sustainability
- Manage operations using modern cloud platforms including Citrix, Kubix, PLM, Power BI, and standard MS Office applications.
- Ensure sustainability documentation is properly gathered and maintained, including BCI credits and Garment Transaction Certificates (TC).
Educational & Experience Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following baseline criteria:
Educational Background
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Apparel Merchandising and Management are given preference.
Experience & Domain Expertise
- A minimum of 7 to 8 years of hands-on experience in a similar capacity.
- Proven experience working directly with European apparel retailers, with special emphasis on children's knit garments.
- Deep understanding of different yarn, fabric types, and embellishment techniques.
