Position: Data Officer
Main Duties:
- Coding R scripts for data checking and data analysis.
- Working alongside Assessment Officers to clean and quality check incoming assessment data in R and Excel and developing structured data analysis plans.
- Maintaining and updating data analysis methods, assessment templates and code banks.
- Varied data analysis and processing related to natural hazard, such as assessing correlation between weather data and hazard incidents and visualising complex datasets.
- Advanced candidates will be encouraged to contribute to the development of R tools, scripts and packages to streamline work flows of both the Bangladesh and Global REACH teams.
- Advanced candidates will be encouraged to use interactive visualisation tools e.g. R Shiny.
- Selection criteria
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Must have experience with R coding language and have a desire to learn/develop skills.
- Strong Excel skills and good knowledge of MS Office programs and google sheets.
- Ability to work independently and to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Positive work ethic and a desire to work in the humanitarian field.
- Confidence to coordinate regularly with colleagues in different teams and good communication skills to ensure the clear communication of complex analysis.
- Experience in data visualisation and communication.
Educational Qualification:
- BSc in IT Software, GIS, Data analysis.
- Master’s Degree IT Software, GIS (preferred)
